All About Containers: What You Can and Can't Use at our Self-Serve Milk Dispenser
Let's talk about containers you can use at our self-serve milk dispenser!
Since the installation of milk vending system in 2017, part of the vision was to reduce waste by offering customers the opportunity to refill their own vessels, whether they had them already or purchased them from us.
Let's get started by going over the things that make or break a container's useability and why. Containers must comply with the following standards:
🫧 Clean
This one goes without saying! All containers MUST be clean.
🧼 Easy to wash
For reuse, it's best to choose a container that is easy to wash so there's no risk of contamination when you refill. This means no plastic jugs with the little built-in handle that's near impossible to get clean.
❇️ Sanitary
We don't allow containers that have a high risk of contamination. That means all personal water bottles, sippy cups, and single use beverage cups are not permitted.
✔️ Safe for food contact
Another point that should go without saying - for your safety, it's important that your container is made from food grade materials. If possible, glass is always our first choice.
✨ New
If you're purchasing a container from us, you know it meets all of our requirements so you're good to fill! This is the only case in which you may use a single-use beverage cup or plastic milk jug. While these types of containers are permitted if they are new from us, keep in mind they are not for reuse.
