The Best (& Easiest) Eggnog Recipe—No Raw Eggs!
Made with delicious whole milk, this homemade eggnog will have everyone coming back for more. This recipe is heated to cook the eggs (think of it as a very thin custard) so if you're not a fan of the raw eggs, you can can enjoy a cup of holiday nog!
Ingredients
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 500ml (half a bottle) LQC whole cream-top milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp dark rum or bourbon (optional)
Instructions
1. In a saucepan, combine egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and spices; mix well.
2. Add whole milk in three or so small additions, mixing until well combined.
3. Cook on low-med heat until thickened, whisking frequently. Low and slow is better than fast and furious!

4. Add vanilla and liquor (optional) to serve.

Recipe Notes:
- If you wish to omit the cornstarch, just add an extra egg yolk.
- More or less sugar may be used to taste.
- For thicker or thinner eggnog, add or remove an egg yolk.
- Recipe doubles well.
