5 Cheeseburgers to Make You a Backyard BBQ Legend

Creating content can lead you to some incredible discoveries. Like the time we made a mini-series on social media all about the cheeseburger. (With our own grass-fed beef and cheese, how could we not!)

We've rounded up these six mouthwatering creations here because it's crying a shame to see them disappear into our Instagram feed where, despite their success, they inevitably become archived by the algorithm.

The Melty Monterey Burger

A.K.A. The Jumpin' Jill Burger

This Melty Monterey cheeseburger, also known as the Jumpin' Jill, was quickly and voraciously devoured. Is that why we didn’t get a better picture than this video still? Maybe. Was it delicious? Yes it was.

Here’s how we did it.

BURGER PATTIES

Now, tell yourself that messy burgers are good burgers. Then layer up the following, in order:

  1. Toasted bun bottom
  2. Mayonnaise
  3. Beef patty (LQC grass-fed)
  4. LQC Monterey Jill cheese (melted on patty)
  5. Sliced tomato
  6. Iceberg lettuce
  7. Sliced red onion
  8. Crispy bacon
  9. Yellow mustard (or honey mustard)
  10. Ketchup
  11. Toasted bun lid

The Qualicum Spice Burger

Meet the Qualicum Spice burger! Wildly delicious and explosively flavourful, our favourite grilled cheese sandwich joined forces with a burger and we’re shook 💥🫨

BURGER PATTIES

We keep these patties simple because the beef just tastes so good it doesn’t need any help.
Combine meat, eggs, breadcrumbs, and salt and let sit a couple minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to absorb some moisture. After flipping and in the last few minutes of cooking, add 3-4 slices of Qualicum Spice per patty and allow to melt. Makes 5 small-medium patties.

SWEET PICKLED ONIONS (don’t skip these!!)

In a small jar or container, combine the following and let sit at least 1 hour, but overnight is best.

  • 1⁄4 of a red onion, sliced
  • 1⁄4 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar

BBQ MAYO

Mix up your favourite BBQ sauce with some mayonnaise to taste. It’s that easy!

The OTHER THINGS

  • Lettuce
  • Crispy bacon
  • Tomato, sliced (not shown but a delicious addition)

The Runaway Brie Burger

This melty Brie burger (yes, it’s as good as it looks) is proof that when you put a lot of love into making cheese, it'll love you right back!

BURGER PATTIES:

  • 1 pkg LQC grass-fed ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1⁄4 cup breadcrumbs
  • a dash of salt if you like
  • LQC Island Brie, sliced

We keep these patties simple because the beef just tastes so good it doesn’t need any help.
Combine meat, eggs, breadcrumbs, and salt and let sit a couple minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to absorb some moisture.

The OTHER THINGS:

  • LQC Island Brie, sliced
  • Sautéed mushrooms
  • Microgreens
  • Onion, sliced paper thin
  • Mayonnaise

Layer ‘em up and enjoy. We don’t bother melting the Brie onto the burger patty because a) the heat from the patty gets it juuust melty enough, and b) it’s already creamy and delicious!
