Jalapeño Bacon Cheese Crisps

It's no secret that we like cheese crisps. They're easy and fast to prepare, and add great flavour & texture to so many things! They can stand alone as an appy (with or without a topping) or add a fantastic crunch to a cheeseburger. In any case, we hope you enjoy this tasty, spicy, cheesy treat.

 

 Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated cheese (LQC’s Mt. Moriarty and/or Qualicum Spice)
  • 2-3 strips bacon, cooked crispy & minced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, sliced thinly into rounds (you'll need 1 slice per cheese crisp)

 

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (180C).
  2. Make little piles of shredded cheese on a baking sheet. Even them out so they aren't mounded in the center. The diameter is up to you - we did about 3 inches across.
  3. Sprinkle about 1 tsp worth of bacon bits evenly over each cheese pile. Place a slice of jalapeño in the center of each.
  1. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until evenly golden. Note: the time will vary depending on how much cheese you use, so keep an eye on them as they bake.
  2. Once cooled to touch, they’re ready to serve! Enjoy on their own or with your favourite dip.
